WITH THE VISION OF OWNERS ANTHONY AND TONYA LIFORD, THE OVEN MITT OPENED ITS DOORS ON JUNE 30th, 2015. THE VISION WAS INSPIRED BY THE OWNERS PREVIOUS BACKGROUND OF WORKING IN FOODSERVICE. ANTHONY COOKED AND MANAGED RESTAURANTS IN MICHIGAN FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. TONYA, ALONG WITH WAITRESSING, HAS SEVERAL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN RESTAURANT ACCOUNTING. WITH THEIR BACKGROUNDS THEY COMBINED THEIR EXPERIENCE TO CREATE A UNIQUE PLACE THAT APPEALS TO NOT ONLY THE LOCALS, BUT A PLACE THATS WORTH MAKING THAT DRIVE FROM ANOTHER TOWN. AT THE OVEN MITT YOU'LL FIND DELICIOUS MEALS LIKE GRANDMA USED TO MAKE. FOR EXAMPLE, SOUP BEANS AND CORN BREAD AND TURKEY & DRESSING. ALSO, ALL OF THE CLASSIC LUNCH ITEMS ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE. LIKE THE CLUB SANDWICH, CHICKEN SALAD CROISSANT, PATTY MELT, PHILLY STEAK SUB, OR ONE OF OUR BURGERS OR WRAPS. ENTREE EXAMPLES ARE OUR FAMOUS FRIED CATFISH, CHAR GRILLED PORK CHOPS, RIBEYE STEAK DINNER, COUNTRY FRIED STEAK, OR BBQ SMOKED CHICKEN BREAST.
